How to Design Wall Hanging Quilts
Do you like to decorate your rooms to increase beauty of rooms? If so, you should choose handcrafted wall hanging quilts for decorating the walls of your bedrooms, lounges, and living rooms. You can also make handcrafted hanging tapestries to accentuate the interior beauty of your bedroom. At the same time, if you find it difficult to buy well fitted fabric wall hanging quilts which can be used to decorate walls of rooms, you can try designing a quilt on Your Own.
To design handcrafted quilts for your wall hanging, you will have to arrange different types of tools and materials. You must gather scrap loose fabric, threads for stitching seams and texture of the fabric cloth, needle, batten, scissors, pins, and backing fabric sheets. You must abide by every step very carefully while designing hand crafted wall hanging tapestry/comforter. Generally, the standard size of a wall hanging quilt is around 27 inches by 27 inches. However, if you like to make a quilt for decorating walls independently, you can change the pattern and size of your comforter as per your wish.
At first, you need to wash fabric sheets so that there is no patch/dark spot on the top side of the quilt. The backing fabric is the plain cloth which insulates the backside of the comforter/quilt. You should stitch this plain backing fabric sheet properly to the piece of comforter for extra protection. It actually protects the surface of the quilt from dust, rust, dampness, and moisture. Secondly, you'll have to opt for rotary cutter/ batten for fixing woofs, and scissors.
Then with the help of rotary cutting machine, you can reshape scrape fabric by trimming edges and seam lines of the fabric sheets.
At third step, you will have to make arrangement for block designs. Usually a wall hanging tapestry is replete with 9 blocks in different sizes and colors. You will have to measure perfectly by outlining diagrams on the plain paper. Properly sizeable blocks need to be drawn accurately so that your wall hanging comforters/quilts will be made more attractive and presentable.
You should emboss the blocks on the texture of fabric cloth perfectly. The contour of the four square of the block should be stitched properly via needlework. Every block needs to be fixed to the surface of the fabric sheet in organized way. Block sewing needs to be done carefully to avoid improper block designing. You can also insert an extra seam or double platted fabric sheet in between top quilt sheet and backing fabric cloth. This will act as a fixture to tighten two joints in more accurate way. Borderline of the quilted blocks should be pinned properly and systematically.
After completing needlework, you will have to check whether there are any loose loop, scratch, defects, and unfitted loose fabric seam in the tapestry/quilt. If you find any loose thread or defect in the comforter, you will have to cut or trim that outgrowth which will spoil the aesthete of the wall hanging quilt.

How do a clean a wall hanging made only from hemp including ink?
I have a wall hanging that is made only from hemp that includes the ink and it hasn' been cleaned in 6 years and is in bad need of a clean.I am afraid that if I wash it or send it to the cleaners that all of the ink will go out of it and I will end up with a white cloth.I really hope that somebody will be able to help me with this.
The hemp itself should hold up so can you "test wash" a small portion of the hanging to see what will happen when the ink gets wet? I would start with that. If the ink seems to hold I would do a gentle hand wash and hang to dry. Have you tried hanging it outside for a while to blow any dust off? Do you have a vacuum cleaner that has a small brush attachment for gentle vacuuming? You could try that. Sorry I couldn't be of more help.
