I have had bowls in different sizes similar to this one. The one I have now with a silver, not brass bottom is from the 1950s. Alot of the rings under these bowls are only brass plated and by the looks of yours, I would say this is true. Value? Around $20.

Check in ebay occasionally to find the exact same bowl, they do come up.
