Woodworking Finish Hand-Rubbed Wiping Tung Oil Technique
Hand rubbing Tung Oil finishes or wiping on oil with cheesecloth is very efficient and produces beautiful results. It creates an even coat without runs, drips or brushes to clean. Visit the Woodworking Plans Website pages for more woodworking articles.
1. With a teaspoon of Tung Oil applied to cheesecloth, begin wiping into corners, joints and decorative work. This will reduce the excess oil in the cloth pad and allow it to even out oil in the corners and decorative areas.
2. Add oil to cheese cloth as necessary to finish wiping an even coat on top of project.
3. Rub surface with the palm of the hand or two fingers (or cheesecloth and gloves). Wiping with the grain, keep hand constantly in motion, so there are no smudges or fingerprints. The wood surface should feel slick, but not wet after rubbing. It will become sticky within five (5) minutes after being applied and should not be rubbed any longer. Each side of a dresser or cabinet, for example, 4 should be wiped down with Tung Oil varnish and then had rubbed before going on to the next section.
4. A little excess Tung Oil varnish during the hand rubbing will allow the wood to absorb a maximum amount; thus, an even coat is being applied.
5. Continue application of Tung Oil with cheesecloth followed by hand rubbing to level out wet areas. Rub oil into wood over entire project.

I'm assuming that it is empty except for a drive left in one of the bays. If so just remove it. It's probably duff anyway, that's why it has been left in it.
Take both sides off of yours and disconnect all the wire and cables. Tie labelled tags to them if needs be, where they go exactly. Even draw diagrams if you find it easier.
Then remove bits systematically and make notes of what goes where.
When you have completely stripped it out, do exactly the same but in reverse in the other case.
As both machines wont be earthed, regularly go and touch the bare copper pipes anywhere in the house to earth any static electricity that may be in your body. If you don't, static will zap any electrical component in a computer.
