Choosing a Wood Picture Frame
Artists of all media spend nearly as much time selecting an appropriate picture frame as they do in creating their artwork. Picture frames are used to set off the art inside the frame, and can blend in with it or provide a stark contrast to it. For painters, a wood picture frame is often the best choice, and there are several different factors that will come into play when you are going about the process of selecting a picture frames made of wood. First, think about the size of the artwork that you wish to frame. Is it a standard size? If so, you can save money and find a beautiful frame if you select a ready made picture frame.
These picture frames come in a wealth of different sizes and are reliably in stock, so you should be able to select a picture frame and purchase it with speedy turnaround. Sometimes a ready made picture frame comes as a kit, including the glazing, mount and mat board, and even a picture hanger, making for a simple project to frame your artwork yourself. If, however, your artwork is uniquely sized, you will need to select a custom made picture frame. This offers you the most versatility, because you can select the exact molding you wish used in the picture frame, and that, along with a beautiful mat board, will provide your artwork with a distinctive edging that no other piece of art will have.
Next, think about the artwork you wish to frame. The colors used in the art will have an impact on the picture frame you select. Keeping in mind your desire for the frame to complement or contrast the artwork will enable you to select a frame that does what you want. I cannot remember the actual story of the book. All I can remember is that it had an ornate border around each page, and there's a little hedgehog or hedgehog family in the border. The pictures narrate something totally different from the text. It shows the hedgehog(s) in the home, and it's winter time I think!
