Boston Lexus dealers offer tips to get the most out of your used car
If you're ready to trade in your old friend for a newer model, your Boston Lexus dealer wants to give you a few tips for preparing your car for trade-in so you get the full value from it. Often trading it in at the dealer will not get you top dollar. But if you plan to sell it yourself by posting online you should follow this checklist first.
Without spending too much time or money, these steps can help you get the most money for your vehicle, according to your Boston used Lexus LS dealer.
Start off by cleaning your vehicle from top to bottom, inside and out. Wash the outside and then tackle the inside by using a dust cloth to get any dirt of hard surfaces, vacuuming thoroughly (that means under, around, in and between the seats), and washing the windows free of any dog slobber or mini me residue. If you have leather seats, condition them and make sure there is no odor of any kind. If there is, try a healthy dose of air freshener on the carpet and upholstery.
Remove everything from the car that didn't come with the car. Bumper stickers and dash ornaments are not going to sell your car. When you visit your Boston Lexus dealer you don't see a wiener dog on the dashboard. Take yours out!

If you have black plastic trim that's faded, try to gain access to a heat gun, use the lowest setting and slowly use it until the color comes back. If you get it too hot you will melt the plastic, so move it constantly and keep it set on low. That's L-O-W. There are trim restoring kits and products, but they are not as effective.
Love your tires. Scrub them, along with the rim, with a soft brush and make sure you get it all the way around. You will have to move the car at some point. Now that it looks the best it can, you need to look it over and decide if there are any deal breakers where you need to invest money to get it sold. If you have a side mirror hanging on by one wire or a big hole in the driver's seat, these might be issues. New tires can be a big selling point, but don't overspend or you won't get your money back in the sale. Any issues with the vehicle that would cause it to fail an inspection should be fixed, such as broken or burned out lights, a cracked windshield, etc.
When it comes to pricing your vehicles, you will probably think it's worth more than it is - it's been a faithful friend for years, after all. Compare other similar models and years and look on Edmunds.com and at Kelley Blue Book values. This will get you in the ballpark. Of course, it's really worth what someone is willing to pay, so if you can drum up a bidding war between your cousin and the neighbor's college-bound daughter, go for it.
Be honest in your description and post a picture. Few people will bother to call or come look at your vehicle without seeing it first. And always practice the Golden Rule.

level line wall ledge replacement mounting brackets?
I have 2 sets of these wall ledge shelving made by Burnes of Boston and after we moved I realized we did not take the brackets off the walls just the shelves. An individual that is not part of a company cannot buy straight from them so does anyone know where I can purchase replacement mounting brackets for the level line wall ledge. And NO you cannot get them at home depot.. Thanks
I would first contact the people who are living in your old place to see if you can retrieve yours, but you've probably already done that, right?
Contact Burnes and ask them where to find a retailer. The only customer service number I could find was 888-963-7263. Explain right up front that you understand that you can't buy directly from them, but tell them that you're having a problem finding a retailer. Under those conditions, they should help you. If they give you a hard time, ask to speak to their supervisor. Sooner or later you will speak to someone who sees the value of a potential sale and that person will be helpful. They might even offer to get you a replacement set directly.
